Romance, suspense, drama in one package with a bow on top; is the best way to describe Runnin’ Down Forever, by Alexandra Grace. This is book five in the Wayfinder series.
This story follows Case who has loved the same girl since he was a little boy, Lakelyn, his best friend’s sister, and fiancé to Anders.
In order to compress his feelings and still be her best friend, he hides behind his football career with the Cypress Creek Kings, adrenaline rush therapy and a carefully built playboy reputation.

And Lakelyn is a woman who has always followed the plan, been a good daughter, the perfect partner and a woman everyone else needs her to be.
Until, that is, the day of the wedding comes.
Suddenly Case is a getaway driver, the one constant in her life outside of her brother, who shows up whenever she needs help.
And Lakelyn is a runaway bride, the woman who Case is supposed to forget is now living in his and her brother’s house, sitting in the stands at his games and traveling with the team.
The more their paths cross, the more they start to connect, but trouble looms just around the corner.

Will they make it past the most dangerous roads, or will Lakelyn take the path she was always meant to take?
Grace does an outstanding job of weaving together this romance. It flowed so well with just enough detail and suspense to keep you hooked till the end.
I truly got a chance to connect not only with the main two characters, but with the two background characters as well. Gavin, Lakelyn’s brother and her best friend, Mallory.
I honestly wanted more of their story with Case and Lakelyn’s. It takes great writing to have me not just invest time into one couple but want to come back and see where the other couple ended up, as well.
I laughed, cried, got so angry I wanted to go into the book and fight Lakelyn’s ex for her. This was truly an amazing love story.
Most romance books you go into, you know the main two characters will find a way to be together, but the way Grace has written this story had me guessing right along with Case who Lakelyn would choose in the end.
While this was a fade-to-back romance the spice was still there in the middle of the suspense and it definitely did its job in making me blush and giddy.
I have no real complaints outside that it ended. For these reasons and more I am giving this book four out of five stars and two out of five chili peppers.
